New music baritone Thomas Buckner
sings works by composers from Charles Ives to Robert Ashley along with his own unique improvisations. Working closely with a veritable "who's who" of composers and improvisers, Buckner energetically pursues activity in a wide range of musical contexts. From chamber works and orchestral pieces to jazz-oriented improvisations, from computer-enhanced electronic works to multi-media theater pieces, he continues to merge genres and break barriers in his ongoing search for the yet-to-be-imagined. Whether in his capacity as a performer, presenter, producer or composer, Buckner's abilities are respected by audiences and critics world-wide.

PERFORMANCES WITH ELECTRONIC ENVIRONMENTS
Off-Hour Wait State (Some Music About The Subway)
Presented as either an installation with performances, or as a single evening event, this electronic sound environment with soloists has received ecstatic reviews in the US, Europe and Japan since it's debut in 1996. It may be set in a traditional concert hall, or working against the notion of concert-time, it can be mounted in a gallery, store front, office or other space that provides easy and continuous access for the public.
"Wonderfully seductive! It succeeds so astonishingly well in so many ways and at so many different levels... stands among the most smoothly integrated acoustic-electronic constructions I've heard." Fanfare
Jump The Circle, Jump The Line
This new performance, which builds on Buckner and Hamilton's ten years of partnership in creating innovative acoustic/electronic experiments, offers two simultaneous layers of independent musical performance utilizing techniques of analog electronic synthesis to structure, phrase and pace the music, along with live processing of the voice. Each performer's part is developed individually, sustaining and amplifying each autonomous idea in the act of putting them together.
