EMF's mission is to explore the creative and cultural potential in the convergence of music, sound, technology, and science, and, through contact and interactions with a large and growing public, apply what is learned towards the betterment of human life.

Inspired by the conviction that international community and communication based on creativity can lead us to a better world, we provide models and resources for creativity and facilitate the development and exchange of new ideas.
We commission innovative work, foster research, and develop collaborative projects with partners and contacts throughout the world.
We organize concerts, festivals, symposia, and conferences in New York City and elsewhere. Our public presentations explore new cultural roles for music, innovative presentations of music and media, the confluence of tradition and technology, performance possibilities in new musical instruments, and the use of sound art to heighten environmental awareness.
By means of a powerful internet presence and global outreach, and through the dissemination of information and the distribution of materials, we extend the impact of our activities beyond our immediate audience to a larger public and project ourselves to the world as a beacon for the empowerment of individual creativity.
