EMF Subscriber Benefits and Guidelines

EMF World

EMF World is an interactive listserv that offers you access to a wide range of information, connections to colleagues, professional opportunities, and ideas. Through EMF World, you can participate in EMF's international network of approximately 1600 individuals and organizations.

To submit a message to EMF World, send it to emfsubs@emfmail.org

The following guidelines are intended to make the information conveyed through EMF World more accessible. The guidelines are:

  · no concert announcements (send them to ae@emf.org),
  · no job (or other) opportunities (send them to opps@emf.org),
  · no messages to a single person (send them directly to the person),
  · every message should be meaningful and informative, and
  · the subject (or thread) of your message should be in the subject field.

Note: Personal notices such as CD releases, prizes, travel schedules, etc. will be edited, compiled and sent out to the network under the general heading of EMF Bulletin Board.

Please note also that your email address is automatically added to the EMF World listserv when you become an EMF Subscriber. If at any time you decide that you would rather not receive EMF World, click here and select the appropriate option.

Promotion of your Events

Our goal is to make your name and your work known around the world through a powerful and lively internet presence.

First, all of your performances and events for which we receive information in timely fashion, whether or not they are electronic, are listed in our Arts Electric email calendar, sent weekly to reach approximately 20,000 colleagues, producers, curators, academics, and members of an interested public worldwide.

Second, whenever it's suitable or appropriate, we'll promote your ideas, inventions, instruments, and activities and interests in articles, interviews, notices, images, video and/or audio clips, and information in other formats in our Arts Electric website (currently in the process of redesign). Let us know what you're doing by listing your events, participating in EMF World (see below), or by contacting us directly.

To list an event we need to know:

  · the name of the event,
  · date, time, and place (address, city, and country) of the event, and
  · a place to go for further information (website, email, or phone).

Please send the information early rather than later to ae@emf.org.

CDeMusic

At CDeMusic, we sell your CDs to the public and maintain your CDs in our catalog regardless of how many we sell, providing only that we can acquire them in a reasonable way for resale. To discuss the sale of your CDs at CDeMusic, contact us at cde@emf.org.

We promote your CDs at CDeMusic by maintaining an artist page for you. Artist pages provide name recognition and enhance your credibility as an artist. To create an artist page, send us:

  · a hi-res photo,
  · a brief and personal artist's statement,
  · a brief description of what you do,
  · a press quote,
  · a brief paragraph listing important professional credits, and
  · a statement of what you do now.

If you already have an artist page, we advise you to verify and update the information on a regular basis. Please send all materials and information to us at cde@emf.org.

Program Priorities

You do not have to be an EMF Subscriber to participate in our activities.

But as an EMF Subscriber, you'll have an inside track to knowing what we're doing. And whenever and however it makes sense, presenting your work will be a priority in our productions and programs.

Web Visibility

Your name, linked to your home website, is listed in the EMF Subscribers list and in the EMF Internet Directory.

We suggest that you look at the EMF website from time to time and verify that the link is correct. If not, contact us at subs@emf.org.

Professional Opportunities

The EMF/SEAMUS Professional Opportunities Database lists jobs, graduate student assistantships, calls for participation in conferences, concerts, and festivals, and other opportunities.

Opportunity listings are welcome from any person or institution, and the list of opportunities is available on our website to any interested person. To list an opportunity, send the information to opps@emf.org.

But as an EMF Subscriber, you will receive special notifications and occasional summaries and reminders to look at the website.

Consumer Benefits

When you purchase something at CDeMusic, an EMF Subscriber discount will normally be automatically applied to the price you pay. Note that these discounts may not apply in certain cases and that the specific amounts may change from time to time. The normal discounts on items available through CDeMusic are:

  · 10% from the normal posted price for all CDs, DVDs, and books, and
  · $100 from the posted price for each package of GRM Tools software.

More, as an EMF Subscriber, you will receive exceptional offers on CDs, DVDs, books, journals, and other items that we sell.
