Our mission
Our mission is to explore the creative and cultural potential in the convergence of music, sound, technology, and science, and share what is learned through contact and interactions with a large and growing public.
How do we do it?
Inspired by the conviction that international community based on creativity can lead us to a better world, we present models for music, we conduct workshops, we provide resources, and we foster communication.
We organize concerts, festivals, symposia, and conferences in New York City.
We support composers and sound artists by commissioning innovative work.
By means of a powerful internet presence and global outreach, we extend the impact of our activities to a worldwide public. We maintain an international network of Subscribers through which we disseminate information and distribute materials.
Programs
Our activities are distributed among an ensemble of programs — EMF Productions, Ear to the Earth, Arts Electric, CDeMusic, EMF Media, and The EMF Institute — that provides a structure for us to produce public events, heighten environmental awareness, publish media, and maintain a site on the history of electronic music.
